Strategically convenient geographic position
The location at the crossroads of convenient sea and land routes between the markets of the European Union, Russia and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States makes the Port of Riga an important component of the East-West cargo transportation corridor.

Riga at the crossroads of transit routes
The Port of Riga offers favourable sea and land connections. The regular container lines connect the Port of Riga with the biggest ports in Europe, and the regular container trains allow the delivery of cargo to Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and China in a fast and efficient manner.
